What to wear to a semi-formal event?

If you have a suit, wear it. If not, a solid color, on-up, collared shirt and some kakis would be awesome. Adding a tie with a pattern and that matches your shirt always dresses things up a bit, too. As for shoes, there's really no avoiding an Old-Man-ish look. Opt for black, since that matches everything.
