What are the best mid-range tires for the 2007 Nissan Maxima SL?

I will need new tires in the next couple of months. I want a good, safe tire for my Nissan Maima. I've had quote from $450 to $850. What is realistic for this car. Like I said... I want a safe, dependable tire.
