Why do we coddle teenagers like 2 yr old's?

The teenagers on here are so dramatic! I was a teenage mother and had to fend for myself as soon as I got pregnant. My parents love me but have never enabled me think that I was entitled to anything that I didn't work for! Almost everyone teenager that I come across lately is rude, whiny, spoiled, and expects the world to hand them whatever they want and don't have to answer to anyone. This includes my own family! Does anyone else feel like the majority of teenagers are without comprehension of the real world?
