Why do politicians ignore the issue of global warming?

All politicians are uppercl people who have a lot of money at stake if the steps taken to fight global warming negatively affect the world's economy. They, along with most of the upper cl around the world, have decided that their wealth is more important than the welfare of the human race. Unfortunately, the effects of global warming will have to get much worse before American politicians do anything about it.
