Do camera remotes work on Digital cameras as well?

I dabble in photography but don't have the money to throw down for a professional camera so I have a Kodak c180 point and shoot digital camera. I recently bought a 52" tripod for $15. And I was looking for a camera remote on eBay for Kodak but I wanted to be absolutely sure that it would work on my digital camera... none of the sellers got back to me so I opted to turn to Yahoo! Answers. Anyone who can offer any information would be very appreciated! Thanks!
